    Context

Reach 2A civil works (Mysuru Road–Pattanagere, 3.94 km, 4 stations), awarded to IL&FS Engineering & Construction Company. as_of is approximate — civil work on this extension is reported to have begun October 2016, but this source (a 2021 progress-inspection article) does not itself give the original award date, only the contract value.

  2. sanctioned

₹332 cr Part figure: Reach 2B civil works only (4.86 km) [1]

    Funder: state · FY 2016-17

    Context

Reach 2B civil works (Pattanagere–Challaghatta, 4.86 km), awarded to Soma Enterprise. as_of is approximate — see the equivalent note on the Reach 2A entry.

  4. Section opened

Kengeri–Challaghatta section completed; the extension became fully operational (exact day not confirmed, month/year per The Metro Rail Guy). [2]

Sanctioned, released and spent are different things: an allocation is not evidence money was spent. Part figures cover one contract, loan or package and are never used as the project's cost.

Notes and caveats

Opened in two sections: Mysuru Road–Kengeri (2021-08) and Kengeri–Challaghatta (2023-10), per The Metro Rail Guy. A separately-reported ₹1,867.95 cr figure (Deccan Herald) could not be directly verified in this collection pass and remains withheld. The two civil-works contract values now on file (₹327 cr + ₹332 cr = ₹659 cr, confirmed directly from a Metro Rail News article dated 2021-06-28) are package-level construction contracts, not a confirmed total project cost — the ₹1,867.95 cr figure may cover land acquisition, systems and other components on top of these two packages, but that has not been confirmed.
